About Woman Versus
Woman Versus documents women and girls who faced hard circumstances, poverty, an unstable home, low expectations, a broken system, fear, or long odds, and kept going. We organize every story by the obstacle, not by the person, because the point is not to celebrate one individual. The point is to show, over and over, that the obstacle does not get the final say.
This is not a site about women versus men. Versus means the obstacle: the circumstance she was up against, not another person.
Our Editorial Principles
- We name the obstacle honestly. We do not smooth a hard story into a highlight reel. The years in between struggle and stability get told, not skipped.
- Privacy is not optional. Every subject chooses how much of their identity to share. Pseudonyms, suppressed locations, and consent controls are the default, not an upgrade.
- No single founder, no single face. Woman Versus is not built around one personality. Stories are researched, written, and edited by an editorial team, and the platform will always be about the women in the stories, not about who runs it.
- Every submission is reviewed. First-person story submissions go through the same editorial process as every other story before anything is published.

What Woman Versus Is Not
We are not a site about women versus men, a platform built around a single founder's personal brand, or a place that publishes anyone's story without their informed consent about how they are identified.
Contributor Policy
If you want to share your story, use our story submission form. You choose how you're identified, from your full name to fully anonymous, and we never publish your location or contact details. Every submission is reviewed by our editorial team before anything moves toward publication, and if your story is a fit, we contact you directly before it goes live.
Our eight launch stories are editorial composites written to reflect real, well-documented patterns in poverty, family instability, institutional barriers, and long-odds recovery, published while we open story submissions to build our first-person archive.
